Shopster CANNOT prove "Unlimited Profits" LIES, LIES ,LIES!!

The following is from the BBB report on Shopster:

Advertising Review

On May 3, 2007 , the Better Business Bureau contacted the company (Shopster E- Commerce)regarding its claim of "Unlimited profits" for its client distributors on its website. The company advised the Bureau that they issue the difference payment from the suppliers' price and the customers' payment and that there is no limit on what a distributor can sell and therefore earn. Shopster did not supply a comparison pricing list or an example of typical earnings for reasons of privacy, but has agreed to consider modifying the claim. Details must be clearly disclosed in advertisements as required by the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards. According to the BBB Code of Advertising, companies must be prepared to prove any advertised claims.

So if Shopster is bad do you know of some quality dropshipping outfits for a Canadian selling to the North AMerican market?

Would appreciate hearing your input. scottrlp@hotmail.com

It all depends on the type of products you're interested in selling. The best gift basket dropshippers are www.giftbasketdropshipping.com

Hi ScottM,

I've been using One Source for a while and its very reliable. Its one time expense member ship site (no monthly fees) containing thousands of suppliers.

All suppliers are verified continously to ensure reliability. Now they have also added tools to allow better market research too.

You will still need to contact the supplier, create an account & create the website yourself. So it may take longer to start but the prices a genuine. You can get 3 pricing structures, drop-shipping, light wholesale and bulk wholesale.

One disadvantage is that if you have a site selling multiple items, coming from different suppliers, you may end up charging more for shipping. This is less of a problem if selling on ebay.

On most items i traded so far a product will cost $20 and sell for $40. they are very good prices.

Have a look at it here: http://tinyurl.com/2qr6lc

Don't know if they are giving away their free ebook. If so, i recommend you download it. its a great read.

I sell exclusively on Ebay and have my suppliers that I've made contacts with from Gem Shows. As I mentioned in a pervious post, on average, 9 out of 10 of my auctions sell for an average of 300% mark-up.

As a stay home dad making $2,000 - $2,500 a month working only about 2-3 hours per day selling on Ebay has become the perfect solution. I am totally in control of my business and don't have to rely on other companies shipping out the products and wondering if the items will ever make it to my customers address.

Since leaving Shopster (6 nmonths ago) I have sold over 800 items on Ebay and made over $15,000 in profit. While I was with Shopster, I sold 0 items and made $0.00.

It's great to hear you are making 300% mark up. That is very good business. Well done. It Imperative you have good contacts in this business otherwise you will end up loosing out.

BTW Do you use any tools or service to manage your ebay business, I am looking for such tools.

As I said, drop-shipping is one of the options available in One Source. you can buy products in light or bulk wholesale if you can afford to stock inventory. The mark up will be significantly higher.

Till now i find it more comfortable to drop ship, but I know I am in for more profits if i start buying in wholesale.

Regarding shopster, I would not use their service as they are not true dropshippers. Their mark up is not high enough. I don't think the $29 monthly fee is justfied either.

I have my own system for managing my auctions. I've used Ebay tools in the past but didn't want to spend the extra money. In order for me to keep my auctions at low prices I need to keep costs down. Every additional dime spent adds up quick. Since Ebay's rates have gone up, and buyers will bid more often on a lower priced item, I would need to raise the price of my items for any new expence. I keep things simple and I don't like to bite off more than I can chew.

All my auctions begin together and end together in order best manage my Ebay business. I've been told by many people who also sell on Ebay that it's the easiest and best way. This way I only have to ship 1 day per week. I only accept Paypal and Money orders and Paypal has a life saver.

They must be desperate. I receive Monster job posting emails everyday, and today is the first time I have ever encountered a "job" from Shopster (not really a job, although it "sounds" like one). Because I always check out a company that I am either interested in or think is too good to be true, I found that this company is very much the latter. Amway-like. Part cult, part pyramid scheme. They inflate their claims but cannot back them up with any facts. Those making money see nothing wrong with how they are making it and will defend the company with grade-school name calling and possible threats. Very adult behaviour.

Thank you for commenting. The funny thing is, some of the people who defended Shopster 5 months ago are no longer with Shopster. I wonder why? lol.

Thanks for the url to the BBB in Canada. I just filed a complaint against Shopster. BBB Case # 1150633. Every order from my shopster store has been cancelled by shopster due to the product being "out of stock", even though their inventory reflects that the items cancelled are "available". Basically, they sold me a storefront with no real inventory to sell. What a scam! I hope they get caught by the Feds for perpetrating this scam across international lines. (I'm going to the FBI with my complaint next).

Shopster is deceptive indeed. I filed a complaint with the BBB of Calgary (Case 1150176) because before I signed up they said there were no fees and AFTER I signed up, I discovered they add 3.9% to the cost of all of the items and then they subtract 3.5% from all of your profits! If you were with Shopster and want your money back, just file a complaint with the BBB: http://calgary.bbb.org and get your money back!
